Irene is an expert of cosmic cataclysms, such as the death of massive stars and the spectacular smashup of their remnants. Through complex computer models, she investigates how tiny particles, which are the building blocks of matter, drive these gigantic cosmic explosions, forging the elements of the periodic table essential to our life. In this cosmic journey, we will find us, humans, inextricably connected to the mesmerizing lifecycle of stars.
